About

Dogs have always been a part of my life! They bring a sense of the world being always new - even if they walk by that spot every day! A friend who will always be there to listen (and give a lick) and a fine reason to be outdoors!

The pleasure of a wagging tail when you return, no matter how long (or short) a time you were gone; a playmate for the children or a protector for your home adds a richness to family life. When this is not how your dog behaves you get frustrated and upset (just like our kids). Sometimes, one’s friend needs to learn a different way to be in your family, this is where I can help you both.

Why Small Dogs?

Small dogs are often the most misunderstood.

I feel that many people get a small dog thinking that Fluffy will be easy – no training needed. There may be an attitude that "Joey is not really a dog, but more like a toy..." or even a cat! This expectation gap causes a lot of problems for the Partnership of the human and the dog. When the dog reality enters the picture, off to the shelter with Fluffy.

This brought me to the decision to specialize in small dogs. Perhaps I can help people find a comfortable way to have one of these charmers stay in their family as a true friend.

My Dog, Penny

My current dog is Penny. I found her through Hopalong Rescue.

She is about 8 years old, weighs 15 pounds, and has strong ideas about life! Penny is definitely a challenge due to eight years of deciding how to “be” in the world! We are becoming more comfortable together every day!
